Podcast 1: The City Temple
On September 10, 1911, for the first time in His life, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá addressed a public audience. Standing on the pulpit of a 17th century church, seated on the Western edge of the city of London, the Master’s words of this ‘new cycle of human power’ echoed through the sanctuary.

I really like this, and the blend of ‘Abdu’l-Baha’s informative/inspirational talk with discussion of how to apply teachings to our lives works very well. So timely! THANK YOU for this wonderful initiative. We look forward to upcoming episodes in the journey.

I have just started reading “The Promulgation of Universal Peace,” which is a compilation of all of ‘Abdu’l-Baha’s talks both public and before smaller groups in people’s homes, and your work is a fantastic complement to my reading. I am finding myself even more inspired to my community building efforts as a Baha’i. Thank you so much!
It’s “huge”! A proper use of technology. I’m going to follow it by “Mahmud’s Diary” day by day.
This is so beautifully and skillfully done! Thank you! It’s very inspiring!

A small detail: I believe that Abdu’l-Baha addressed public audiences in Egypt and France before London
That is an important point to clarify, in ‘God Passes By’ Shoghi Effendi calls this “Abdu’l-Bahá’s first public appearance before a Western audience”. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá did stop in France and Switzerland before London, England but he did not speak there publicly. The compilation that makes up Paris Talks actually occurs in October and November of 1911, and the majority of them are in a private setting.
This is just my personal research though. I definitely appreciate any addition and support. Faran, I’m not too familiar with ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s stay in Egypt, do you have more sources for the friends on the Master’s talks there?
Some of that and other things have been gathered at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdu'l-Baha's_journeys_to_the_West
Regarding the comment about Abdul-Baha’s visit to Egypt before visiting the U.K, and whether he had made any public talks there or not. The best reference to this is a new book (In Arabic only so far) for Prof. Bushruí called (Abbas Effendi), and in it he talks in details about his time in Egypt.
He also mentioned that during his visit, Abdul-Baha did not give any public talks there, and it was only in small gatherings for the Bahaís and their friends.
hope that helps

I’m amazed, this is great… Thanks for sharing!
I must say in a few minutes this has summed up quite a lot of important details which would have been covered within a lot of hours through other means. This is podcast is a worth-while project, so informative, creative and inspiring. Thank you for these well appreciated efforts.
Great piece of work Lorraine and crew! May it continue.

Every morning during the fasting period, these talks by ‘Abdu’l-Baha, and the stories of his transformative influence as He shared the teachings of Baha’u’llah with peoples of the West, are a wonderful accompaniment to guide the day.
